  • Haitian Sustainable Development Foundation (HSDF)

The Haitian Sustainable Development Foundation (HSDF) Mission is to commit to progressively advancing opportunities in sustainably developing communities throughout Haiti. Our non-profit was formed in 2004 by return Haiti Peace Corps Volunteers that made a commitment to continuing the small community development work that we swore on oath to uphold when we became Peace Corps volunteers.  HSDF strives to empower independent, democratically-conscious communities. By allowing the communities to come up with their own projects we give them the confidence and skills needed to finish projects with little outside aid, other than material support and educational seminars on group leadership. HSDF’s philosophy is to allow communities to develop their own projects, to motivate through collaboration, knowledge-sharing and skill-building.  We maintain close contact with the communities and their projects. HSDF’s main programs have included Permaculture, School Programs and Cultural Exchange through working with artist cooperatives and youth groups.  Our work has been focused in Ferier, Petit-Goâve and Jacmel.  Get more

  • Haiti Response Coalition (HRC)

The Haiti Response Coalition began to form only minutes after the news of the earthquake began to spread across the globe. As we desperately tried to reach those in Haiti, we began to plan a rapid response to the crisis. Those of us who had been working in Haiti for years knew instinctively that we had to band together, pooling our resources, our networks, our contacts, our energies and our creativity. Even as our lives became tèt anba (upside down) and the days and nights began to run together, we relentlessly sought to help our Haitian friends, driven by adrenalin and our love for this beleaguered country and its people.   Get more

  • Global Fund for Children (GFC)

The Global Fund for Children’s mission is to advance the dignity of children and youth around the world. GFC pursues its mission by making small grants to innovative community-based organizations working with some of the world’s most vulnerable children and youth, complemented by a dynamic media program that, through books, documentary photography, and film, highlights the issues affecting children and celebrates the global society in which we all live.

GFC made its first grants in 1997 using royalties from its children’s book publishing venture. Since then, GFC’s grant making capacity has grown dramatically, from $3,000 in 1997 to approximately $3.4 million during the 2009-2010 fiscal year. Since 1997, GFC has awarded over $21 million in grants to nearly 500 grantee partners in 78 countries around the world.    Get more

  •  Glory House Services (GHS)

Glory House Services is a not-for-profit agency that works to integrate Haitians into the Kansas City community. Our goal is to equip Haitian immigrant families and independents in the Kansas City metropolitan area with the skills necessary for self-sustainability in the United States through services, training, and programs, e.g., English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, academic tutoring, employment/job skills, etc.

Partnering with Glory House Services, our ministries and charities send donations to Haiti that help operate orphanages, provide medical care, and provide villages and communities with safe drinking water. We look forward to reaching future milestones together. Small monetary donations, clothing, school supplies, or simply a few hours of your time are always deeply appreciated here at GHS. Get more
